Omelette Fingers

This recipe requires just one ingredient to start (we won't spoil the surprise as to what it is..!) so it's a really quick and easy meal. These are fantastic sliced as a finger food. Adults and older children can simply have the omelette as a wrap for whatever filling takes your fancy! See our Weaning page for the up to date guidance on using eggs.

1 egg!

(and a tiny nut or butter or oil for the pan)

Add other fillings for adults and older children if you want to serve the omelette as a wrap.

  1. Heat the butter or oil in a non-stick pan over a medium heat.

  2. Meanwhile, beat the egg lightly. You can add cheese too if you wish at this point (grated cheddar is fine).

  3. Once the butter is foaming gently, pour the beaten egg into the pan, letting it form a round pancake.

  4. Let it cook for a few minutes until the base is set and just a bit wet on top.

  5. Flip it over and cook for another minute or so until fully set and lightly golden brown.

  6. Cut into strips or serve as a wrap.
